Human Resource Management

This program develops effective human resource management skills for those already working in HR or planning to move into HR, supervisory, or managerial roles. Students take courses in recruitment and selection, performance management, compensation, training and development, labour relations, and more, preparing them for work in public or private sector, unionized or non-unionized workplaces. The blended delivery format features Saturday on-campus sessions and online coursework, designed for those working full-time Monday–Friday. The program is accredited by CPHR-PEI, putting graduates on a path toward the CPHR designation.

Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Grade 12 or equivalent with credits at or above the general level
- Confirmation of successful completion of BUSI 101 Human Resource Management I (or equivalent) and BUSI2035 Organizational Behaviour (or equivalent) from an accredited community college or university prior to start of program
- Résumé including work and volunteer experience with applicable dates, membership in groups, associations or athletics, awards and distinctions, and any other information relevant to the program
- Preference given to those with three or more years of work experience in an office environment or in a supervisory role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint, and excellent oral and written communication skills are recommended
- If first language is not English, must meet English Language Requirements
